The theme of the retreat is ‘connecting with your inner child’. This is done via intimate group sessions, 1-2-1s and meditations. We will explore all developmental stages from prenatal, right up to adulthood. Identifying developmental gaps, areas needing revisiting, unfinished business, healing, reclaiming and releasing. It’s an opportunity to connect and really feel, see and hear the child within that may be hurt, scared, lonely, stuck and in need of love and attention.

Inner child work is the fastest way to heal from addictions, anger, anxiety and stress related problems (John Bradshaw).  There are 7 main developmental stages to explore from prenatal to adulthood (0-25 years old). Each stage is explored over the duration of the course and includes group work, 1-2-1s, exercises, re-patterning, and meditations. At the end of the course there will be a group meditation to connect all the stages together and a healing release ceremony.

Inner child work is a vital component of self discovery because it reconnects us with a wounded element of ourselves: the child within. When we reconnect with this part of ourselves, we can begin to discover the root of many of our fears, phobias, addictions, insecurities and sabotaging life patterns as well as identifying limiting belief systems which are no longer serving you and causing you difficulties. This is where the true healing happens! We were all once children, and still have that child dwelling within us. But most adults are quite unaware of this. And this lack of conscious relatedness to our own inner child is precisely where so many behavioural, emotional, and relationship difficulties stem from.

Key Objectives:

  • To provide participants with a therapeutic safe setting to explore, reconnect, and reclaim their inner child.

  • Enhance knowledge and understanding of developmental stages and identify gaps in own development.

  • To begin to discover the root of many of our fears, phobias, addictions, insecurities, low self-esteem, and sabotaging life patterns.

  • To identify limiting belief systems introjected during childhood, which are no longer serving and causing difficulties as an adult.

Aside from the inner child work, there will be morning meditations, mindfulness walks around the lake and beautiful Italian countryside, 1-2-1 counselling and hypnotherapy sessions, and energetic release work.

You will stay at the Lily Pad villa, a traditional Italian villa on the Viverone Lake. Food will include traditional Italian cuisines for lunch and dinner prepared and cooked by our chef and a continental breakfast. Afternoon smoothies to boost your immune system, energy levels, and well-being  available daily.

Lily pad villa comes with a spacious garden, swimming pool, and outside seating areas with views over the lake and mountains. It’s a beautiful place to relax, reflect, de-stress, self-discover, connect to the child within, and experience and enjoy a slice of Italy.

If you have suffered with addictions, alcoholism, codependency, anger, stress and anxiety, emotional blocks, relationship struggles, limiting belief systems and low self esteem and would like to get to the root of it, this is the retreat for you.

Family Retreat at Lago Di Viverone, Italy

Family Retreats at Lago Di Viverone provide a safe, stress- free setting for family members to spend quality time together and to strengthen their relationships.  The retreat setting is a traditional Italian family villa overlooking the picturesque Lake Viverone, Northern Italy in the Province of Biella.

The retreat goal is to provide a stress free, distraction free setting, over the course of a week, for family members to spend quality time together rebuilding their relationships and to identify and build upon their strengths. This is achieved through participation in a series of shared psycho-educational sessions, family therapy and individual sessions to learn specific techniques for improving relationships within the family. Every family faces problems, but how these problems are dealt with differs between families and shapes their futures.

The retreat can also be designed and tailored for families that have been impacted by an addiction in the family. Addiction is often referred to as a family disease which affects the whole family and not just the member that is addicted.  Addiction can have a devastating and damaging effect on the whole family. The addicted member may have recently spent time in an addiction treatment centre, or is in a recovery programme and now wants to focus on rebuilding the whole family. The retreat offers psycho-education, guidance and support for the significant other, spouse, parents and children. It provides an opportunity for families to explore the impact of the addiction on the family and to work together to examine their unique dynamics, address core issues, enhance communication and resolving conflict. Regardless of how strong the family ties are, tension and clashes sometimes supersede harmony.

The Family Retreat is developed for all types of relationships within a family, to defuse these issues, and to provide clarity and insight as to what really matters, away from the distractions of daily life. It's an opportunity to work on relationships while at the same time having fun together on a family holiday - a powerful combination for change and healing.  These factors, together with the intensity of a seven-day program and working with an experienced counsellor allow families to find avenues for re-connection.

Key objectives:

  • Provide family members with a therapeutic safe setting to explore, rebuild and strengthen relationships and to understand family dynamics.

  • Strengthen the communication skills of the family members and learn new ways of relating in a healthy manner.

  • Enhance family members knowledge and understanding of addiction, its impact on a family unit and how to recover.

  • To explore family stressors and learn effective new ways of coping with and managing stress.

  • To explore anger, its impact on the family and how to manage anger more effectively.

  • To develop healthy boundaries and express family members concerns, needs and hopes for the future.

The family will stay at the beautiful Lily pad villa, a traditional Italian villa on the Lago di Viverone. All food is included in the retreat and will consist of traditional Italian cuisines for lunch and dinner prepared and cooked by our chef as well as a traditional continental breakfast.

Lily pad villa comes with 4 bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a spacious garden, swimming pool, and outside seating areas with views over the lake and mountains. It’s a beautiful place to relax, reflect, and reconnect with the family as well as experiencing and enjoying a slice of Italy.

Aside from the therapeutic aspect of the retreat, there are outside activities and things for the family to do to bond and connect once therapy has commenced for the day. (activities are not included in the cost of the retreat).  Lake Viverone offers boat rides and water activities, a water park, and beautiful walks around this great natural lake. There are several Italian restaurants and coffee shops, and Milan is only an hour away where you can enjoy the global capital of fashion and design and all this amazing city has to offer.

If your family has suffered from addictions, alcoholism, codependency, anger, stress and anxiety, emotional blocks or relationship struggles and disconnection, this retreat is a great place to start healing and reconnecting with your family.   An initial consultation with the family will take place and follow-up sessions, post-retreat, can be sourced in person in London or via Zoom calls if further afield.
